Day Five

It feels like God has been speaking through a megaphone these past five days. Being with Pastor Ahn and his family has been a most blessing experience. This family is truly special. They know what it means to live each day on daily bread.

Since today was Sunday, there was a church service here at "Still Waters" church (the building which was once used as a pig pen). I wasn't expecting to see a lot of members but to my surprise there was none, besides the family and the Korea Team. But, we still held a beautiful service. Though we were few I feel God was pleased by our worship. The offering basket was passed around and if the Korea Team was not here there would have been nothing in the basket. But still this family manages. Pastor Ahn says they keep no books or records of finances because, honestly, they get so little. He says he doesn't understand how they have enough money for everything. It's a "five loafs and three fish" sort of thing.

After Sunday service, Pastor Ahn goes and picks up a few of the children in the area for a afternoon service. The afternoon service is more of a Sunday School. Today there were about 10 children. Some of these kids stories are shocking, to say the least. A bit too shocking to put into appropriate words for a blog. But, after hearing the stories of the these kids my heart dropped to the bottom of my stomach. It was hard to hear. These kids are so troubled that the other parents of the town don't let their kids play with them. The church sacrifices members in order to help these few troubled kids. Pastor Ahn compares "Still Waters" to the shepherd that leaves a flock of 99 to go find the 1 lost sheep.

Once the kids arrived, Pastor Ahn gave a sort message and the kids ate and played. We played with the kids; talking with them in English. After they left we preped for the upcoming English Camp.

Prayer Requests
1. Unity for the town.
- It feels like Satan has a foothold in this area. There are people that dislike church activities. They consider us a "Jesus Virus." Please pray that the town can one day see the glory of God.

2. For the Children
- the children here are hurting deeply. Please pray that they can recover from past tramas and that God will mend their wounds.

Thank you for your awesome support,
Daniel Kim
